Atmosphere Maintained B Administration In order to achieve its hopes of progress, a high school often finds discipline a necessity. At Valley Forge, the role of dis- ciplinarian is held by Mr. David Laurenzi, our busy assistant principal. In addition to aiding Mr. Smith in the supervision of the entire student body, Mr. Laurenzi provides valuable coun- selling and guidance to students, and acts as co-ordinator of the school-wide IBM system. What- ever service he is engaged in, he maintains a constructive at- titude, and continuously strives to provide a pleasant and stimu- lating atmosphere in which stu- dents can learn and progress. Mr. Laurenzi and Mr. Smith work together on school business. 19

Mr. David Smith Principal .mg We have a very enthusiastic, forward- looking staff, and I'm very proud of our ex- cellent student body. Principal David M. Smith understands that the hopes of tomor- row lie in the progress of today-progress that can only be obtained through a faculty that looks to the future and a student body eager to meet the challenges of its age. With this goal of progress in mind, Mr. Smith has supervised and coordinated extracurricular activities, worked with counselors and de- partment chairmen, and acted as the over- seer of the many details involved in the running of a large suburban high school. Through creative thought and applied ef- forts, he has succeeded in maintaining an orderly and smooth-running system of edu- cation at Valley Forge High School. School Board Maintains High Educational Standards SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS, 1964-65-Mrs. Robert Schuster, Mr. Robert Brown, Mr. Norman Shibley, Mr. Thomas Hudgeons, Mr. Charles Chaffin. Insuring the best possible education for stu- dents is the foremost objective of the Parma School Board. Serving as the policy-making body, the school board strives to advance and enhance the city's educational system. Members of the Board of Education are civic- minded, impartial individuals who are upholding the traditional, high standards of Parma educa- tion. Members of the 1966-67 School Board are Mr. Robert Brown, president: Mrs. Robert Schuster, Mr. Charles Chaffin, Mr. Joseph Kral, and Mr. Charles Kovach. Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Stuart Openlander, and Mr. Smith converse before the November Lake Erie League Conference.
