Our Able Administrators Open Doors oi l Mr. David Smith Principal The educational program for students at Valley Forge High School is designed to provide a broad general education, to offer college preparatory courses for students who plan to continue their academic educa- tion, to provide vocational training, to offer opportunities for leadership and participa- tion, to develop special guidance, and to provide for physical and social development. All of this is done within the framework of our cherished democratic heritage. We hope that the lives of our students will be broad- ened and deepened as a result of their high school career and that they will become effective citizens in our country. To our 1965 graduating seniors-we sincerely Wish personal happiness and a most worthwhile and rewarding future. David M. Smith Principal

Educational Opportunity Mr. David Laurenzi Assistant Principal Mr. David Laurenzi, our assistant prin- cipal, believes in an open door policy. He is always Willing to take the time to advise students, parents, and teachers. In this way he is able to identify problems and evaluate the different aspects of various school func- tions. I-Ie feels that school spirit is important at Valley Forge, and he Works to foster it in both the faculty and in the student body. Mr. Laurenzi is guided in the adminis- tration of discipline by a few basic principles. He feels that a school must be made up of self-disciplined people and he tries to offer students every opportunity to develop self- discipline by giving them freedom and independence. Those who fail to face the responsibility of independence or misuse it are disciplined as individuals so that the welfare of the other students is protected.
