Councils Discuss Present-Day Problems COUNCIL ON HUMAN RELATIONS BOTTOM ROW: Janosko, Harrison, Schwartz, Vitcha, Ruppelt, Renerts, Ferencz, J emma, Cowley, Wheeler. SECOND ROW: Van- Chantfort, Weber, Marr, Godman, Carlier, Reed, McCann, The Council on Human Relations was organized for the purpose of promoting better fellowship and understanding among people of various races, creeds, and national origins. Lectures and movies were presented at the group's meetings to help their pur- pose. Under the direction of Miss Lucille Shillat, Jesse Epstein of the Steering Com- mittee, and the co-chairmen, Dianne Ruppelt and Pete Renerts, the council members par- ticipated in many citywide activities, in- cluding the church tour and the annual clean-up at Camp Cheerful. Its pur- pose was to promote safety both in and out of school. The chairman, Dianne Dvorak, the adviser. Mr. Ronald Tvorikg and the mem- bers attended many conferences to discuss safety. To inspire in youth mature thoughts, creative actions and worthy goals for a safer tomorrown was the theme of the Columbus State meeting that all Youth Traf- fic Councils attended. This year Valley Forge initiated two Hi-Y clubs, the Saxons and Centurians, who, along with the Archons, Olympians, and Tritons, helped to motivate worthy school projects. The Hi-Y clubs served the community through projects, which in- cluded collecting for the Health Fund and the Heart Fund. In addition to their Y.M.C.A. activities, the clubs worked in state-wide programs. The clubs met every Monday at the Ridgewood Y.M.C.A. Most clubs were advised by a member of the Valley Forge faculty.
