Valley Forge is proud to be the only school in the greater Cleveland area to have a chapter of the Distributive Education Club of America. DECA members Worked part time and were enrolled in Mr. Calabria's distributive education class. The purpose of DECA profices opportunities for future business ca- reers. SECOND ROW: Hricisin, Sappington, Jefferson, Westbrook, Zanko, Williams, Miller, Zsarnay, Arndt, Hamula, Goebl, Guth- The Future Business Leaders of America endeavored to promote business leadership. Advised by Mrs. Helen Chase, Mrs. Rose- marie Krempasky, and Mrs. Barbara Krue- ger, they operated the supply bookstore and a part-time employment service for the rie. THIRD ROW: Dunn, Noack, Stalnaker, Stevens, Skinger, Hostal, Snyder, Papushak, Budak, Zambory, Petrick, Jeckel. FOURTH ROW: Balint, Hassa, Leggett, Wagner, Sorochak, Kessler, Nagel, Gilchrist, Hardy, Obert, Cigary. FIFTH ROW: Cook, Rospierski, Holm, Legan, Jasany, Goode, Zitney, Reik, Skrbin, Smith. students of Valley Forge. The club also participated in the Trial-Interview Program which gave valuable experience regarding interviews. The FBLA ended the year with a Senior Banquet.

Valley Forge Wages a War with Words The National Forensic League was com- posed of varsity debaters who were awarded points for participating in debates, discus- sions, and a student congress. In October and January, the club played host to eighteen schools for debate tournaments. Working under adviser Miss Barbara Greider Were: Karen Wheeler, president, Pete Renerts, vice-presidentg Kurt Thornbladh, secretaryg and Bard Van Chantfort, treas- urer. The Debate Team under the direction of Miss Barbara Greider, started its season in October and ended it in May. The topic for the year was Resolved: That nuclear Weapons should be controlled by an inter- national organizationf' Tournaments were held every Saturday throughout the year.
