Girls' Leaders Stimulate Participation GIRLS' LEADERS BOTTOM ROW: Zehnder, Childs, Uhinck, Lessing, Basista, Wengrin, With, Fenda, Musolf, Ryan, Collins, Bowker, SECOND ROW: Vacca, Haug, Spanagel, Kinsman, Wulf, Deacon, Meeth, Miller, Franklin, Mackulin, Griesbach. THIRD ROW: Busch, Leading gym classes, working in the gym offices, and officiating at intramural activities were a few of the jobs of the Girls' Leaders. They also sponsored the annual Twirp Dance, the pie eating contest at the All-School Party, and a Week-end of camping during which the new members were initi- ated. Some of the requirements for ad- mission to this service organization were: a 3.5 grade average, a Written test, and a skill test. During the year they had a regularly scheduled gym class and bi-monthly meet- ings. Officers of this group Were: Donna Griesbach, presidentg Pat Basista, vice- presidentg Carol Bowker, secretaryg Carol Cooper, treasurerg and Cheryl Mackulin, publicity chairman. Leaders Aid in Building the Body The Boys' Leaders of Valley Forge aided the physical education teachers by instruc- ting and demonstrating skills. The purpose of the organization was to train and give experience to boys who were interested in becoming physical education instructors. Push-ups are for strengthening the arms. A 3.5 scholastic average in physical educa- tion was required of the leaders. Mr. Fritz- sche advised the 35 members in their leading activities and special projects such as the annual surprise breakfast and participation in the All School Party. One, two, one, two.

l I Intramural student director, Sharon J ohnson. Sportheads meet to organize Intramural Sports. Sporthead Club Girls' intramural activities at Valley Forge this year were planned and executed with the aid of the twenty-four members of Sportheads. This service club was started in 1963 because of the need for organiza- tion in intramurals. Requirements for membership in theclub were: an active inter- est in sports and adequate time to devote to the intramural program. Duties included scheduling teams and tournaments, keep- ing all attendance records, and setting up the equipment for each sport. Miss Mary Beth Stonebraker and Miss Nancy Stephen advised the club and Sharon Johnson was the Student Intramural Director.
