Boys Participate in Intramurals Particmpation,' was the key word for the Boys' Intr mural Program this year. The goal of th program was to reach as many boys as po sible with a varied, Well-balanced plan of a tivities. Enthusiasm for intra- mural sports was evident with over one- thousand taking an active interest. l Ozog shows is basketball skills. Some of the more popular sports were touch football, basketball, track, skiing, bowling, and vollyball. Team members of a varsity sport were not eligible for the intramural competition in that sport, but there were no restrictions on class or grade. Mr. Glenn Preising directed the program. Alertness is the key to intramural success.

GOLF TEAM-BOTTOM ROW: Coach Fritzsche, Meyer, Starre, Badema.n,,Corley, Scavone. SECOND ROW: Siebert, Van- Treuren, Such, Robertson, Goodwin, Chilcot, Speers, Meyer. Golf Practice Pays Off in Championship Dan Corley swings for successful season. The Valley Forge Golf Team was coached t by Mr. Fritzsche. Of the forty students who T tried out for the team only the best eight players were accepted. The team practiced every afternoon during the season. Ridge- wood Country Club was the home course but the team also played at Shaker Country club, Columbia Hills, and other courses. In 1964 the team won the LEL championship. Three players from that winning team returned this year. The goal of the team was not only to Win the LEL championship in 1965 but also to win the district tournament and qual- ify to play in the state tournament. Brian Starre tees off.

Junior Varsity Maintains Winning Spirit Coached by Mr. Glenn Preising, the junior varsity football team finished with a fine record of eight wins and two losses. They ranked in second place in the Lake Erie League. Stressing defense this year, the junior Patriots were defeated by only Cleve- land Heights and Lakewood. The junior varsity basketball team carried on the JV spirit. Coaching the team was Mr. James Riha, who emphasized shoot- ing and defense throughout the season. The boys' hard work helped them to finish the season with a fine record. This year's junior varsity Wrestling team was coached by Mr. John Ruper. Through rigid practice during the season, the team made a fine showing in the final league standings. IB, 15, 48, Hike!
