MANY GIRLS PARTICIP TE IN A VARIETY SPORTHEADS BOTTOM ROW: Peg Hinrich, Jeanne Nes- bit, Pam Monachino, Deanna Swalley, Kathy Schultz, Pat Hart- line, Sharon Roush, Sharon Johnson. SECOND ROW: Marilyn Miller, Karen Kruk, Judi Lessing, .lanet Trytek. Linda Zaccaro, Interest and ability in intramural sports charac- terized the busy girls known as sportheads. Primarily a service organization, the sportheads received extra points toward intramural letters. Chosen the previous spring, sportheads were required to join the Officials' Club. Passing grades on periodic tests relating to the current activity were another requirement for re- maining in the club. Linda Toth, Nancy Bucher, Walene Staab, Sandi Behringer, Claudia Doering. THIRD-ROW: Kiaran O'Brien, Karen Thomp- son, Annell Beviel, Linda Iquth, Shirley Manchek, Carol Green- berg, Karen Steppke, Lorra Rose, Marsha Reiss, Gayle Jenkins. There were usually four to six sportheads for each team sport and two for each individual sport. They helped their adviser, Miss Mary Beth Stone- braker, and other teachers to coordinate the intra- mural program. Among the numerous responsibilities of the sportheads were officiating team sports and keeping records of team standings and averages. SECOND ROW: Sandy Benson, Kathi Schwan, Georgene Tachuk, Judy Uhinck, Jeanne Downs, Physical fitness, leadership ability, and an ample amount of spare time were pre- requisites for members of Girls Leaders Club. In addition to aiding gym classes, these energetic girls sponsored the Twirp Dance, attended Play Days at other high schools, gave gifts to a needy family at GIRLS LEADERS OFFICERS - Marsha Reissg Sherry Watts, Miss Adams, adviser, Sandy Benson, Sue Pecorag Janis Houck. Deanna Swalley, Linda Toth, Cindy Arndt, Karen Thompson Sheryl Nash, Janis Houck, Judy Erikson, Gwen Miller Sharon Burke, Walene Staab. THIRD ROW: Jean Zehnder Marsha Reiss, Nancy Kason, Lynda Stepanek, Beverly Ewan Carol Greenberg, Kiaran O'Brien, Linda F ahrland, Pat Offtermatt Judy Zulauf, Linda Kluth, Sue Pecora, Barb Kent. Christmas, and participated in VF's Spring Carnival. The club held a program for out- going senior members and inducted new officers during a camping trip in the spring. Miss Barbara Adams served as the faculty adviser. VF students enjoy a successful Twirp dance sponsored by the Girls Leaders.
