Col These were the words that set the Valley Forge track team off to a successful season last year. The team, with Mr. Stan Parrish as head coach, proved by its final record that the indoor winter workouts were of great advan- tage in preparing for a highly competitive outdoor season. During the indoor season the team defeated Berea, Midpark, and Brooklyng placed fourth in the St. Joseph lnvitationalg and scored two and one half points in the Cleveland Indoor Meet. Highlights of the outdoor season were a third place standing in the Rocky River Relays in which sixteen teams were entered and fifth places in the Berea and Mentor Relays with twenty-four and seven- teen teams entered respectively. The distance runners were coached by Mr. Parrish, the sprinters by Mr. Robert Ramlow, and the field event men by Mr. Joe Carlo. Although it was only VF's first year of LEL competition, there were many victories, including the defeat of Parma, 741 to 35. l , ,W Jim Jankuraqpractices his starts. Ed Zaremba puts the shot. 40

KEGLERS BOWL TO HIGH LEAGUE STANDING This year's bowling team, led by Captain Earl Graham with a 186 pin average and Dan Urban with a 178 pin average, placed well for the second year in a row. Coached by Mr. William Kuttler, the team finished in the upper half of the league standings. A highlight of the season was Earl Graham's 289 game in a 669 series. Coach Kuttler watches Chuck Scavone and Earl Graham bowl. ' 59
