The clerical assistants, Mrs. Ann Armbruster, and Mrs. Jean Tulloch, helped to keep the library functioning smoothly by signing out the books and doing the typing for the library. Straight. Future secretaries and bookkeepers had-4 excellent opportunities to learn the many duties that will be required of them in their future employment. Dictation and transcription, a double period course, was a combination of Shorthand II, Typing III, and secretarial practice. Clerical office practice combined with the use of modern office machines was offered in a single course called office practice and machines. These courses were of great value because they served to prepare students to enter the business world upon graduation from high school.
