INDUSTRI L RTS PRO IDE MAN Mr. R0ll8ld Calabria Mr. Virgil Cqcklin Mr. Donald Criffing Mr. Carl Grolle Mr. Jack ,lisa Mr. Robert Jones Mr. Robert Kovacs Chairman Industrial Education students are taught the fundamentals of electronics by their instructor, Mr. CarlGro1le. 24 The department of industrial education, headed by Mr. Robert Jones, offered two courses of study to the students interested in industrial education. The technical courses included the study of drafting, graphic arts, woodworking, general metals, electricity- electronics, and transportation mechanics. These courses were designed to prepare students for working in an ever-changing so- ciety. The vocational courses offered were printing, electronics, and machine shop, which prepared students for work as skilled craftsmen. One of the most popular courses offered by the industrial education depart- ment was driver education. The newest course offered by the department was dis- tributive education, which enabled students to get actual work experience in their chosen fields. This was the only such course of- fered in the Cleveland area.

GYM CLASSES PRO IDE HE LTHF L F Miss Barbara Adams Mr. John Broski Mr. James Fritzsche Chairman Mrs. Joan Orford Mr. Stan Parrish Mr. Glenn Prenslng Mr. Robert Randow Miss Mary Beth Mrs. Marsha Wadd Field hockey and speed ball were two sports added to the physical education pro- gram last year. Another first in the depart- ment was tenth period athletics. This class gave boys playing on varsity and junior var- sity teams the opportunity to practice their particular sport during the entire year without missing any classes. The girls' program consisted of a variety of activities including modern dance and apparatus. Comparable to the boys' varsity sports was the girls' intramural program. These activities improved the already meritorious standards of the department headed by Mr. James Fritzsche. 26 Stonebraker ...awmsm 'N The bullie of field hockey intrigues Noreen Abookire and Kathy Maier 1n their gym class.
