PICTURE OF THE PAST A D THE PRESENT Miss Sandra Kovach Mr. Vern Kraushaar To aid the student to take his place in society, the social studies department, headed by Mr. David Grodhaus, had the responsibility of introducing the student to all phases of human behavior and all forms of social organization. Honors classes were available in world history, while both honors and basic courses were offered in U. S. history and government. Courses in sociology, the study of motives behindsocial and family problems, economics, the study of man's financial position in society, and current problems, the issues of man today, offered the pupils a challenge to investigate the back- ground and life of human beings. ln order to provide a more suitable academic program, all social science courses are in the process of being reorganized and new subjects, including a program of advanced placement in U. S. history, will be of- fered next year. Mr. Thomas Malone Mr. Robert Mueller Miss Lucille Shillat Miss Margie Smith Mrs. Nancy Volpe
