SOPHUMORES Sophomore girls get together during eighth period lunch to talk over the day's activities. With a mixture of apprehension, anticipation, and perhaps even fear, 923 ninth graders left the comfort of supervision at junior high to become sophomores with greater independence and respons- ibility at Valley Forge Senior High. The first few days were marked by the confusion of trying to find lockers, attempting to decide which side of the hall had the even numbered rooms, and trying to dis- cover how to get to-the opposite end of the school in the least time. Within a short time, however, the sophomores were able to find their classes and remember their locker numbers. Initial bewilder- ment disappeared as they became acquainted with upperclassmen and began participating in the sports, clubs, and other activities which enabled them to become a part of life at Valley Forge. Sophomores Diane Davis and Donna Burke boost school spirit by selling balloons at a football game. 112
