Being one of the newest clubs in the school last year, the Olympian Hi-Y was eager to participate in all school functions. A booth at the Spring Carnival and the promotion of school spirit took much of the c1ub's time as did the many services performed for Valley Forge by the club. The boys also did charitable work during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. The officers of the club were Jim Jankura, presidentg Jim Savarda, vice-presidentg Bob Madey, treasurerg Jeff Jones, secretaryg and Rick Kunz, sergeant-at-arms. SECOND ROW: Mary Alice Horvath, Gary Michalek, Dan Goetz, Karen Antall, Susan Jones, John Thompson, The Math Club advised by Mr. Loren Castor, was open to all students who had a genuine interest in the intricate and complex world of mathematics. The agenda of each meeting usually included the discussion of one or more of the principles of math Marilyn Demeter, Craig Petersen. THIRD ROW: Ronald Noga, Jim Sharkus, Wayne Lukacsko, Del Schumacher, Lee Branst, Don Winarski, John Kobs. or the solution of difficult problems and puzzles. The officers of this year's club were Bill Fixley, presi- dent, Susie Schwartz, vice-president, Carol Axon, treasurerg and Chris Fernelius, secretary. ORTHWHILE EXTRACURRIC L R CTI ITIE The purpose of Hi-Y is to create, maintain, and extend high standards of Christian character throughout the home, school, and community. Valley F orge's Triton Hi-Y, co-sponsored by the Y.M.C.A. and the school, offered boys excellent social and athletic programs with expert guidance. Advised by Mr. Vern Kraushaar, the Tritons performed many services for the community this year, including the usual distribution of Thanksgiving baskets to needy families. Officers were president, Terry Spenglerg vice- president, Dave Kotasekg secretary, Don Haberkostg treasurer, Ted Castorg sergeant-at-arms, Dave Petras, and chaplain, Ed Folsom.
