DEB TERS BECOGNIZED BY NFL DEBATE TEAM BOTTOM ROW: Barb Andrews, Barb Belskis, Karen Wheeler, Rita Miller. SECOND ROW: Linda From mid-November to late March, the VF debate team met almost every Saturday in inter- scholastic debate. The topic for the year was Re- solved: That Social Security benefits should be ex- tended to include medical care. The varsity debate team was especially proud of the first place trophy it won in competition against twenty-four other Cleve- land area teams. Adviser for this active group was Miss Barbara Greider. Toth, Greg Kalina, Arthur Clow, John Grisik, Dick Stender. Such famous leaders as Richard Nixon were once active members of the National Forensic League. Valley Forge's chapter, advised by Miss Barbara Greider, was made up of students who had participated in various oratorical contests and de- bates. These students were awarded points according to their ability, and degrees of merit, honor, excel- lence, and distinction were awarded to them accord- ing to these points.
