In Aerology, LT THEISS pub- lishes daily weather bulletins based on shipboad observations and radioed statistics, and probably prays more than anyone else aboard that the Gods don't cross him up! Balloons are sent up daily to get data on flying conditions in the upper air. His weather guessers also use balloons and charts to trace how storms and just plain air moves around Korea and the Pacific.

LT PARSLEY and ENS BROCK, our two windmill pilots, with their crew, have one of the most important and busiest jobs aboard. Unnoticed and unheralded, unless their use is suddenly needed to pull some hapless pilot or man overboard from the water, they are forever hovering by as planes take off and land, like a mother hen watching over her chicks.
