ACTIVITIES OF THE TRAINING SCHOGL 1935-1936 GARDENS PLANTED in the rear of the buildings to beautify and transform the unattractive cuts on the hill. New band instruments purchased and band membership increased to forty-Five. Trial by Firei' given by the Iunior High school during Fire Prevention Week. A new Philco radio contributed by the Parent-Teacher Association. Mark Twain exhibit by the Iuvenile Library during Book Week. The Thirteenth Chairi' given by the Senior High school under the direction of Miss Reynolds. Attendance at the Damrosch concerts every Friday morning. Second grade library project worked out to stimulate supplementary reading. Six Man Football successfully developed in the Senior High school. Team ranked second in the Conference. Football banquet served by Iunior High school girls in Home Economics department under Miss Garner's direction. Christmas carols sung by the Mother Singers of the Parent-Teacher Association in the corridors of the school during Christmas week. Christmas Cantata arranged and directed by Miss Overholt. A pageant, The Spirit of Americaf' given by the Iunior High school under the direction of Miss Brudos. Third grade worked out puppet shows on Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. A local transportation project developed by the kindergarten. A new speech course added in the Senior High school. Fifth grade hobby exhibits developed. A Consumers' Buying Exhibit and World's Fair displayed by the Iunior and Senior High schools. Program for Open House contributed by sixth grade chorus. Accommodations provided for the Federal Nursery school. A Bird Feeding Station maintained by the primary grades the entire year. A Browsing Corner arranged in the Senior High school assembly with furniture and books contributed by the Iunior Playmakers.
