THE PURPosE of the 1936 Viking Staff has been to produce a book which would combine an accurate and complete portrayal of school activities, with an original and interesting manner of presenta- tion. Wliile the Work of gathering and checking materials has necessarily received our greatest attention, We have been particularly interested in the task of planning a striking makeup for the book. The result has been a shift from the con- ventional style of yearbook to a bolder, more modern design. A vivid color combination, sim- plicity of lines, and unusual arrangements charac- terize the 1936 Viking. We hope this change will be welcomed on the campus. FIJHEWUHU
