Row 2 - Laura Lang, Duane Larsen, Jeanette Larson. In the tall of I946, a new crop of fresh from iunior high students arrived on the doorstep of Q 'ig it VCHS. Since then, the iuniors have taken part in ',: fg,.3,. - many activities, both educational and entertaining. First, many new faces ioined the a cappella and X chorus. Students were even staying home nights S to practice on their new cornets and clarinets to S bi get in trim tor their first appearance in the high S li school band. Two industrious girls, Janet Ployhar ig 5 and Joyce lBubsl Macdonald, were continuously if beating their tables with their drum sticks to get W S5255 J 32 the right rhythm to play a drum. Not that the neighbors' didn't mind, because they did. Then came the field of sports, open to both girls and boys alilse. ln his freshman year, Ronald Wallin lsutl made the Hi-Liner team and that is quite a thrill to any boy - and a special one when he is a freshman. During the sophomore year, Ralph Bevins and Emil Carlson were promoted to first-string Hi-Liner basketball team along with several other sopho- mores who really showed what they could do. In

fhe boys' iunior year, fhey improved fheir playing in bofh baslrefball and foofball, and fhe iuniors made up a good share of all fhe sporfs in high school. Also, in fheirjunior year, Ralph and Emil were elecfed co-capfains of the baskefball feam. Girls' sporfs came nexf. Donna Iverson has been acfive in G.A.A. since she sfarfed as a freshman. She held an office for one year, fhaf of secrefary. lf was rumored around fhaf somefime during fhe iunior year, a girls' soffball feam was supposed fo have been fhe mosf powerful. Then came The lighter side of school. The fresh- man girls scouf froop puf on fhe Girl Scouf Formal and everyone had a good fime, affer a hecfic day of wondering if fhe girls should leave fhe sfraps on fheir formals or should fhey cuf fhem off and be as daring as Lauren Bacall. And fhe boys? Well, even fhough boys don'f seem fo worry much abouf whaf fhey are fo wear, fhey neverfheless preen for hours before dale fime.
