DURING THE YEAR Building 1 reputation durinv the year for scholarship and loyalty Home Room Q07 tc ok the lead in ponsoring -exeral projects designed to build up school spirit and pep Blue and White diy la planned by the members of this room resulted in an outburst of enthusiasm that had all the students aflame with excitement in anticipation of a victory ox er Jamestown in the last home footblll game of the year The big parade and bonhre on the exening before the grid clash were planned and carried out by a committee from th1s home room The game itself rs now history but much credit for that sensational vrctory oxer the iy rests with Mr French 1nd the pitriotic members of this room Teaching the school songs and yells to all students ind learning new yells and songs was a second semester project carried out under the direction of President janet Otto mitch and two basketb 111 games with B1blUHI'Cli on the same day and adx EI'C1Sll'lg the event as Bismarck Day wis another idea conceixed ind carried out under the auspices of this room Christmas Chunes a one att play directed by Janet Ctto was presented in assem bly on December ar The members of the cast were Edythe Gould Donald Hoster Doris Sullivan and limes Sletten ln order to create more intense competltion in scholarship between the home room: O7 secured and decorated in blue and white a trophy which was presented each s1x weeks to the room having the highest scholastic record They then proceeded to win the trophy themselves for three straight terms thus settmg a record in inter home room com petition which other groups have thus far been unable to equal lnterestlng and well planned home room meetings during the year resulted in a sur xey taken to determine the number of infractions of common rules of courtesy in the halls and class rooms The information collected was used as a basrs for a drive to discourage gum chewing and the wearing of hats and caps in the corridors Cons1derable improve ment was made along these lines This xaried program of act1v1t1es has made this home room an important force in the school l1fe during the year Toucumc UP Tm: Tnoii-ix . .
