The Key Club, one of our school's most prominerll' and active groups, is composed of thirty boys, each selected primarily on the basis of character and citizen- ship. The boys, working individually as well as joint- ly, strive to maintain high goals and standards through developing initiative and leadership, providing exper- ience in living and working together, and serving the school and community. ln December the Key Club sponsored Ma Hubbard Week. On Monday and Thursday of that week, they held two slave auctions, wherein Keyclubbers were sold to the highest feminine bidder in exchange for service the following day. The bids ranged from fifty cents to S9.lO. During the noon hour on Wednesday, the Key Club played the Faculty in a basketball game, .for which the admission was twenty-five cents or one can of food. The end to a successful week came with the Satur- day night dance, admission fifty cents or two cans of food. Through these well-planned, well-publicized, and unique activities, the Key Club was able to proudly donate S300 to the Salvation Army, to be used for food to help needy families at Christmas. SLAVE AUCTION The members of one of the more out- standing clubs of Vallejo High were auctioned off to do a day's work for the person who bought them. This pro- ject was one of many in which the Key Club raised money to help the needy. FOOD DRIVE This hard working club, in addition to raising 35300, gathered hundreds of cans of food, also to be given to the needy families of Vallejo. KEY CLUB vs. FACULTY ln this interesting basketball game with the faculty, the club raised a lot of canned food and quite a large sum of money which all went toward a canned food drive which this club put on. nn,
