Junior Varsity Our Junior Varsity baseball teams have been playing red-hot ball since the program started at Vallejo High in l958. As the Arrow goes to press, the Chiefs have compiled a record of 5 wins and l loss with the season just starting, Fur- thermore, since l958, Coach Grove has engineered his clubs into a fantastic record of 50 wins and only 3 losses. As if winning wasn't enough, the Chiefs have run up some very one-sided scores such as 25-4 against Drake and 24-I against Albany, The J.V.s always feature a well rounded squad with fine hitting, pitching, and defensive playing. This year Norm Tanner has joined the Chiefs' coaching staff and the squad is bigger and better than ever. We strongly believe that the Vallejo High Chiefs are on,e of the finest, if not the best, junior varsity baseball squads in Northern California. I Coach 4 l l 3 8 Tanner

Joe Rassler and Gary Basque ix? Q Varsity Baseball The Apache baseball squad, under the able coaching of Dick Biama, has started out to be one of the finest in recent years at Vallejo High. Consisting of many of the players from the championship Post 550 team of last summer, the Apaches have compiled a record of lO wins and only 2 losses as the Arrow goes to press. The squad won the consolation prize at the South San Francisco Invi- tational Tournament and also polished off town rivals in the first game of the city Championship. This fine l96l squad features a crack infield, and fine outfield, and an ace mound staff. They round out the field with fine hit- ting all around. With such a fine team as this, we should finish out the rest of the season undefeated. aol 77 7 af X. ....,,,.,. .MM . ue-1 ,.,,..., -is .W .,,., . ' 1 ? : Q
