VARSITY BASEBALL As the Arrow goes to press the Apaches have had only 3 baseball tilts Coach Patterson has fielded an all Senior team led by last year veterans Larry Humes and Don Matle In their first appearance on the diamond Vallejo dropped a close 3 2 game to Acalanes In the second game Balboa exploded in the fifth inning after a O O game to best the falter mg Apaches 8 O The third game with Benicia turned into a romp as the big bats of Vallejo blasted out a terrific l6 5 win As yet it is too early in the season to give the top nine men these are the out standing players up to now Larry Himes catcher Don Matle at first base Joe Moffit second base James Macbee and Frank Milo short stop' Ron Sturgeon third base' in the outfield there are Jim Leonard and Bob Gladden right field' in center field James Tillman and left fielder Mickey Randle, Vallejo has always managed to field a top team and this year is no exception. 84 K N f 'x
