It was not a good year as it was filled with many mental mistakes. With all of these mistakes behind us, we have great hopes for next year. Derek Swank and Mike Belnap were selected to the all-Conference second team. Derek's position was defensive safety and Mike's was defensive tackle. 36—24—36 Hike Did someone lose something? 30 Keep on truckin'. Rod! Hey, it's a touch down! Hey guys, nice game of leap frog. O.J., eat your heart out! Football Cheerleaders Sitting: Tina Stokes and Renee Adamson. Standing: Roberta Wenzel, Deanna Diamond, and Cheryl Stokes. The A quad cheerleaders had a very busy year. Some of their activities included having a Mr. Legs contest, selling Lick 'em suckers, washing windows for Bridens, and selling popcorn at a football game. They did a good job in supporting the Panthers and keeping up the school spirit. All right! And a one and a two . . . Get off my case. Oh, sit on it! Oh, Phooey! Bouncing back from only a nine man squad the previous season which returned four players, with only one seeing any amount of action, can never be expected to be competitive, but the panthers proved different. The extremely young Panthers, led by seniors, Derek Swank and Vernon Stokes, came within striking distance a number of times, but poor shooting and inexperience kept Valier on the short end of the stock. The experience and knowledge gained this season will no doubt improve the Panthers in the future. 32 VALIER BANK OF MONTANA Standing: Manager Richard Adamson, Lawrence DeBoo, Bruce Little Dog, Dan Swanson, Larry Belnap, Tom Kuka, Jim Payne, Bob Klosterboer, Louis Olson, and Coach Doug Watson. The girls were sponsored by Cindy Shock. 35 Standing: Jody Christiaens, Bev Bull Chi Id, and Hazel Stark. Kneeling: Ruth Monroe. Each individual wrestler's improvement was on the positive side and by the years and the junior varsity's talents began to show by the better challenges they were giving to the varsity wrestlers. A highlight of the year was when six of the wrestlers qualified for state. Four of these six will be returning next year. However, valuable experience for many young varsity players, plus the formation of a J.V. team should be considered a note of success for the team in 1975. Varsity co-captains were Patty Widhalm and Betty Majerus. Junior Varsity co-captains were Lisa Welker and Annette Widhalm. CO-OP SUPPLY CENTER Hey! Come back here! But Coach! I didn't mean to!
