Girls Basketball Left To Right: Coach Gary Springer, Lou Gauthier, Pam Monroe, Janine Adams, Roberta Wenzel, Carla Olson, Elaine Amst, Gwenna Briden, Crystal Smith, Sanda Stark, Brenda Moon, Betty Majerus, Bernie Moon, Kathy Moon, Patty Widhalm, and Manager Lindsay Barrett. Janine Adams Kathy Moon Sanda Stark Conference Honorable Mention This year's girls season proved to be a combination of successes and what ifs . In examining the 3 win, 15 loss overall record, the successes are easy to detect; a broken losing string of 37 games, much higher scoring than any previous Valier team, and a fifth place finish in the district tournament at Choteau. A more careful look at the what ifs indicates thet the team could have been, and probably was, a better squad than its record showed. For example, seven losses could have been victories with better free throw shooting. The 74-75 team has more to be proud of than simply their winning performances, though. They may look back knowing that they did a great deal to bring girls basketball to full stature in Valier. This team will be rememberd as a group of genuine athletes; not just girls trying to play basketball.
