Mrs. Barbara Knueppel, Sponsor SENIORS: Jean Wheeler, Jewel Stokes, and Susan Crawford The CaValiers practiced most of the year to perfect their routines, and worked most of the summer sponsoring Bake Sales and doing odd jobs to earn money for their uniforms. Their first public appearance was when they marched in the Homecoming Parade and performed at the half-time of the Homecoming game. During the Basketball season, they performed at four home games and seven away games and at both the District and the Divisional Tournaments during the half-time of the finals. The CaValiers sponsored an InvitationalMeet in March for six Drill Teams from this area. The CaValiers placed first, followed by the Brady Drill Team second, and Cut Bank ' s third. In May they also participated in the State Drill Team Tournament in Butte.

Cavaliers Work for Perfection 1st Place Trophy FRONT ROW: Sabrina Simmons, Jane Hammer, Debbie Wright, Robin Adams, Captain; Marlene Arnst. SECOND ROW: Sydney Kincaid, Carolyn Harwood, Jan Neyenhuis, Maria Slezak, Jean Wheeler. THIRD ROW: Anita Geiger, Trudy Hall, Jewel Stokes, Susan Crawford, Alice Peterson, Manager. Man has a deeply rooted feelinsj and admiration for physical fitness and prowess. The CaValiers work out regularly almost the year around to achiev e this physical fitness and prowess, and thus have gained the admiration of the people in this area of the state. A piece of the success of the CaValiers belongs to each girl who was willing to put in the time and energy necessary to make the group a strong unit. Students Teach Students i r Mr. Dan McKenty of Northern Montana College came to ful- fill his college require- ments of student teach- ing. Subjects he taught were Economics and U.S. History. Mrs. Sharon Parks, a student from MSU in Bozeman, did her student teaching in Home Ec. II and III, and Typing I and II. Miss Sharon Stetler, a former graduate of Valier High School, was a student teacher from Western Montana College. She taught English, P. E. , and was assistant coach of Girls Track. Mr. Gary Miller, a student teacher of Northern Montana College taught English II, III, and IV. 26
