SECOND ROW: Madelyn Olson, Jane Getts, Leslie Thompson, Candy Parmlee, Larry Wunderlich, Rhonda Stokes, Ron Sullivan, Jean Wheeler, Jan Neyenhuis, Marlene Arnst, Pam Crawford. LAST ROW: Director, Mr. Poelma; Loretta Stokes, Ray Widhalm, Debbie Rideout, Greg Harwood, Bob Kovatch, Dave Kovatch, Ted Holdren, Cindy Swanson, Bonnie Dodge, Donna Myhre, Helen Stephen, John Majerus, Ken Kovatch, Dick Habets, Rhonda Barron, Debra Dean. The band, meeting five days a week instead of three days as in previous years, showed much progress and improvement. It serves the school as a pep band by playing at games and pep rallies, as a marching band in parades, and as a concert band at its annual Fall, Christmas, and Spring concerts. A highlight of the band ' s year was their performance at the half-time of the Homecoming game. They had practiced many weeks to perfect their formations; a rocket, a face, and a mountain. The Panther Paws is a service organization which serves as a host at all public school functions. These girls assist in carrying the flags, holding ropes for basketball games, ushering, handing out programs, and are available for service whenever needed. 16

SECOND ROW: Karen Rappold, Linda Reishus, Joan Yeager, Maria Slezak, Anita Geiger, Connie Pepion, Valerie Hale. THIRD ROW: Trudy Hall, Susan Struss, Rhonda Stokes, Rhonda Barron, Helen Stephen, Denise Gossard, Roberta Keeler, Carolyn Harwood. FOURTH ROW: Marie Adamson, Greg Harwood, Ted Holdren, Tony Harwood, Tom Christiaens, Joe Stark, Dennis Chatlain, Bob Kovatch, Judy Hale. The Valier High School Chorus practiced 3 times a week during the 1969- 70 school year. They performed at the Christmas concert, the Spring concert, Festival, and graduation. A highlight of the year and something which had never been done before, was a trip to Geraldine, Montana, where the choruses from eight different schools all sang under the direction of Mr. Trepp, of Northern Montana College.
