TO YOU, MR. LINDAHL We, the Class of 1953, proudly dedicate our yearbook to Mr. Dean Lindahl, who has been our class sponsor for two years and whose familiar, A word to the wiseis sufficient, warned us of a coming test. He taught us accuracy and helped us maintain high standards. He instilled in us a true respect for scholarship. To Mr. Lindahl we express our appreciation for making our last two years of high school the most enjoyable of our school life.

We, the Class of 53 , chose wheat as the theme for our yearbook because wheat is often uppermost in thought and planning in our community. We chose this theme because nearly every member of our class and every student in Valier high school and every citizen of the Valier community depends directly or indirectly on wheat for his livlihood. Every direction in which a student gazes during a daydream reveals acres and acres of golden wheat alternated by the rich brown of the summer fallow. On a clear Indian summer day we can hear the roar of the combines as they make their rounds harvesting the foodstuff that Valier contributes to feed the hungry world.
