Cast Will And Zestament We, the Senior Class of the City of Valier and the State of Montana, being of sound mind do make and publish our last will and testament. To the Juniors we leave our seats in the assembly, and any gather in our rush through high school. To the Sophomores we leave our ability to behave and pay To the Freshmen we leave our much treasured dignity. PERSONAL BEQUESTS ARE AS FOLLOWS: I, Frank Kibbee, will my sincere thanks to the faculty for the patience they have shown me during high school. I, Clarence Wright, will my tarnished 'Halo' to Marvin White. I, Bob Bruner, will my ability to influence and sway a girl's heart to anyone who can just halfway fill my romantic shoes. I, Shirley Donovan, will my poor depleted brain to anyone who can use it. I, Jack Tidyman, will to Dean Swank my pull with Mr. Lindahl in physics, but not our trips to Great Falls--May I keep them a memory. I, Charlotte Stokes, leave, with no regrets. I, Jerry Kovatch, will my optimistic view on life to that born pessimist, Bob Wentworth. I, Beverly Eppe, will to Betty De Smet the dictionary I sit on at the dinner table. I, Ronald Christiaens, leave saying Eat, Drink, and be Merry for tomorrow we graduate. I, Helen Brophy, leave--taking to the high seas in search of Seymour. I, Don Haynes, will to Dale Dean ability to charm the girls and my even temper. I, Lois Henneman, leave V. H. S. to the underclassmen and keep the rosy future to myself. I, Jim Culleton, will nothin’ to nobody, 'cuz nobody will'd me nothin'. I, Grace Lightner, will my ability to break glasses to anyone who wants to look dignified, yet ha If-cracked. I, Clayton Briden, leave, yelling Annual Staff meeting today out of force of habit. I, Sharon Walley, will my vocabulary to Webster to add to the dictionary. I. Marie Graham, will my poetic ability to the whole school ( fortunate you are there's not enough to go around ). I, Lucille Yeager, will my neat and polished appearance to anyone who can use it to good avail. I, Eileen Miller, will my man-catching ability to Pat Strandwold. ( It seems that Eileen has one for good. ) I, Eloise Bruner, will my giggle to John Freeman. I, Judy Holm, will my apple-polishing ability to Ira Graham. We, the Senior Class of 1952, do hereby sign, seal, and deliver this last proclamation, and testament. bits of knowledge that we failed to attention in class. Seated in his private office of New York Times is editor-in-chief Clayton Briden. Looking at the calendar he is reminded that just 20 years ago he graduated from V. H. S.; so he prints the current news of his classmates under the heading The Class of 52. Frank Kibbee is answering the call of the wild. He is operating a hot-dog stand in Browning. At Vassar, we find Jack Tidyman teaching toe dancing. Lucille Yeager and Marie Graham are well known millionaires because of their great invention --square holes in doughnuts. Beverly Eppe is an actress, co-starring with Mortimer Snerd. (Yep, that's the way she goes.) Jerry Kovatch is manufacturing tacks that people are as sharp as. Clarence Wright has just replaced Hop A'Long Cassidy in his latest production-- Hercumer Goest West. Remember Shirley Donovan? She's hunting head hunters in deep Africa with her latest invention, a streamline bean shooter. Helen Brophy is a check girl at one of the most exclusive night clubs at Williams. Bob Bruner made a fortune on his latest Freckle Bleacher. Miss Eloise Bruner is giving her regular performances at the Metropolitan Opera House. And just look who sweeps the stage and pulls the curtains, our ever faithful Jim Culleton. Ron Christiaens is the chief bouncer at the Drop Inn dance hall. No rumpuses there. A cure for Pain in the Neck, The Scourge of America, was perfected by the great surgeon, Don Haynes. The two discoverers of the Fountain of Youth Cream, the cream that never lets you down, are Eva McGrew and Charlotte Stokes, the leading beauticians of the century. Judy Holm has devoted her life to civilizing the natives of Africa. In Hollywood we find Sharon Walley, who is a famous model, and Grace Lightner, who is Charlie McCarthy’s secretary. Eileen Miller is a busy housewife on a farm outside of Valier. Remember Lois Henneman, she and her twelve children are now living in a pent-house on Dupuyer Ave. In '48 thirty-one freshmen entered V. H. S. During this year Bev Eppe was cheerleader, and Sharon Walley was queen of the Harvest Festival. As sophomores Bev was again cheerleader, and Marie Graham won a Heisey award. Our junior year was highlighted by the prom with a Moonlight and Roses theme and the junior play, Grandma’s Best Years. Bev Eppe, Shirley Donovan, and Lois Henneman led yells. Jack Tidyman and Clayton Briden went to Boys' State, and Judy Holm to Girls' State. Jack Tidyman and Judy Holm received Heisey Awards. This year Jim Culleton is the president of the student council. In May 22 of us will graduate. Members of this class have collected 11 silver footballs and 3 gold basketballs. In '49 footballs were awarded for being state runners-up, and in '50 for Hi-line championship. The gold basketballs were for the champions of Districts 11 and 12. 'poatfcill The Valier Panthers opened the 1951-1952 gridiron season with a decisive win over the Centerville Miners. The Miners drew first blood early in the game, but Valier came back and took the game 41 to 19. Big Sandy proved to be a stubborn foe for the Panthers and the locals had a rough time winning a 19 to 6 victory. It was a rugged game that featured hard running and tackling by both teams. The next hurdle for the Panthers and their first game from home was a game with the Oilmont Trojans. The Trojans held the Panthers fairly well with a first half score of 16 to 10, but the Panthers ran wild in the second half and racked up a 55 to 10 win. The Panthers now ran up against the Sunburst Refiners for the Sub District Title, and the onrushing Panthers made it 4 straight with Sunburst taking the short end of a 29 to 13 score. The Refiners started strong and scoring on passes they led the Valier -ians 13 to 9 at the half, but from then on it was Valier's game. For the District Title the Harlem Wildcats met the Panthers in Valier and took the Panthers for their only defeat. The game was still undecided in the 3rd quarter, but two costly fumbles proved to be the advantage the Wildcats needed to wrap up the game. Playing their last game for Valier were: Kibbee and Wright, half backs; Fitzpatrick and Kovatch, at ends; Christiaens, center; Tidyman, quarterback. Underclassmen showing up well were Swank, Palin, Dean, and DeBoo. To date the Panthers have lost 6 out of 18 games, and scored 1, 015 points to their opponents 805. Six of the 18 games were against Class B Schools with the Panthers winning three of them. Seniors on the squad were: C. Wright, F. Kibbee, J. Tidyman, R. Christiaens, J. Kovatch, D. Haynes. Games remaining to be played are: Ft. Benton, Cut Bank, Dutton, Centerville, and then the Panthers take on the District Tournament in Shelby on March 6, 7, and 8. 1952. •Joatfall Standing: J. Arnst, W. Ginter, D. Christiaens, D. Dean, R. It provides ten class rooms, complete cafeteria facilities, health unit, vault for permanent school records, and an office. The building is the result of long hours of planning and work on the part of the school board: Chairman Henry Arnst, Robert Brophy, Paul Chatlain, De Voe Swank, and Bruce Farrington.
