lVly name is Rory Dominick Walsh. I was born in Dublin, where I lived for six years. Ithen moved to Coolock, a suburb where there is little to do but play soccer and create our own forms of entertainment, which did not always fall under the dictates of the law. The educational system here differs somewhat from the one I have experienced for the last twelve years in Ireland. In secondary education in Ireland you must choose between two tracts, vocational or college preparatory. I chose the vocational, leaning towards work in the metals. After the three year term, I realized that the vocational route was not for me, and Iaim to turn my endeavors toward a more challenging situation in my last years of education. My family, a typical working class, consists of my father, mother, sister, and three brothers. The Inmans, my American family, are really super and have helped me in many ways as I ventured out in this new experience. Hi! I'm Carmen Lopez from Spain. I live in a pretty city on the Nlediterranean Sea. It's called Alicante and is a tourist city. lVly family consists of my parents, my twenty two year old sister and me. I have graduated in Spain from high school. This year I chose to study in the United States, gaining a wonderful and worthwhile experience. In the United States I'm living with Sandi Barber and her family. lVly American family consists of my parents two brothers, and Sandi, who is seventeen. Music is very entertaining to me, especially playing the guitar. I also find literature interesting and enjoyable. I really like the United States. I'm learning that only the countries are iw different, not the people. But there is one special thing I like about this country ...... the food ...... especially peanut butter. I've never tasted it before! BY? E00 oss ali C G Lggigpea It 2 IU I5 'MU annonfi Castlenlail .- A J' Goss .6 V me

Nlore than seventeen years ago I was born in Lusambourg City. At that time my sister was nine and so I was a Hlate-comer. When Iwas six I entered elementary school, and when Iwas twelve years old I attended high school, the HAthenee Grand-Ducul de Lusambourg . After my Valhalla year I will have to spend one more year at high school and take my remaining courses to graduate. In Lusambourg I'm living close to downtown. lVly father is a bank officer and my mother rules the household. I have a sister and a brother-in-law. They have a three year old boy. Lusambourg, a city about the size and the population of San Diego, has many good qualities. The language we speak is Lusambourgish, our own language. Here in El Cajon I'm living with my tremendous host family, the Schnorrs. I want to take this opportunity to tell them, as well as Valhalla High School, and the American Field Service, thank you so much for making it possible for me to be here this year. my second year in school my father got a job in Paris and so we went there to live. In Paris I went to a very small school that only had fifty people attending it. There were four in my class. We had seventy-eight classes and went for thirty-six hours a week. After school I sang in the Swedish church choir. I gave piano lessons and played a little volleyball. Iam very glad to have the opportunity to be here. I think America is one of the best countries in the world. . 5124, dl 'fa doga Oc in-.iw :xg ES'l'iweilE' O L YJ .Ju ,Callus-iiiwp., 'bonsai in 5 Alt: K5 Mmm, UM 0 DsF 50' LHC m 1 u wow gr 30' Lmlgnudf 5C E.-1 r 4 err in 6 K 30 .R X i X- l A ' ?' x P ff!! 1 I . ov ff , oem z l
