Placentia began 118 years ago with one family and 3900 acres of land bought by Daniel Kraemer. As the years went by, the value of the land increased as a result of the highly developed citrus and other crops. Hundreds of people started moving in and Placentia began to grow. The name Placent: was suggested by Sarah .lane McFadden and 1 then voted on by the people. Many of the peo were against the name Placentia and the results the vote were 18 to 7 against Placentia. I VALE 0114.4 HI TORY OF SCHOLAR , CHAMPIONS, D T RADI TIONSJ For anyone who has spent time looking into the history of this fine school, it becomes apparent that this school is rich with stories. These stories are of the people and of the changes that have occurred as time has passed. Through three major wars has this institution stood: World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Valencia High has lost several alumni to these wars so that we may con tinue to have the freedom to gain an educatior here. Our school is a chronicle of scholars, chaml pions, leaders and traditions. From these halls have emerged some outstanding students who have mov- ed on to accomplish a variety of successful endeavors in society.
