These stories are of the people and of the changes that have occurred as time has passed. Through three major wars has this institution stood: World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Valencia High has lost several alumni to these wars so that we may con tinue to have the freedom to gain an educatior here. Our school is a chronicle of scholars, chaml pions, leaders and traditions. From these halls have emerged some outstanding students who have mov- ed on to accomplish a variety of successful endeavors in society. Our annual Heritage Day Assembly is an effort 9 have students learn of the people who have made p the history of this school. It is there that the past, for a moment, becomes a part of every Valen- cia student and they realize that they are not at any ordinary high school. They realize that character, poise, knowledge, and wisdom will be the first of their experiences in these hallowed halls. It is necessary, then, to make them realize that they, too, will be viewed one day with some awe and reflection.
