IP ' .1- I With a lot of love and respect, this book is dedi- cated to Bernie Davis. Mr. Davis is an English teacher, French teacher and yearbook advisor. He serves as French Club advisor and in the past has been BSU advisor. Many students see his smiling face selling tickets for basketball and other sports events. Without the help of Mr. Davis, however, this yearbook would not be pos- sible. Throughout the year he is always there to answer a question and also to ask his famous question Are you going to meet this deadline? For all your devotion, time and effort, we dedi- cate this 76-77 book to you, Bernie Davis A dedicated man The jubilance of success — that makes everything worthwhile THEME 8 The memories of our undef eatable spirit IThe reflecUoas of our joyful smiles . n The arrogance of the juniors who figured they ruled over the rest And oh, the quiet assurance of the Seniors THEME 12 who knew they were the best. Four years of rowdy, exciting, fun high school. Our class has really stood out over these last four years, from our freshman and sophomore years with varsity athletes and overwhelming spirit to our Senior year with winning athletic programs, academic success, and the same crazy spirit of the 77 ' ers. When uniting as a whole, the Seniors really got things together this year. The long hours of work on the float proved to no avail, but it sure was a fun Homecoming week. Other exciting events that made our Senior year were: two tapings of Hollywood shows, a profit-making car rally, and the annual battle of the upper classes, Powderpuff. All this plus Prom and Graduation contributed to a very memorable year. Thanks for your support . . . One Step Away for the Class of ' 78 Dear Junior Class, I ' d like to thank you for giving me the opportunity of being your president. It was really an honor to lead such an excellent class. During the past year we were involved in a variety of activities, most of which were highly successful. Examples of this include our out- standing job in homecoming, earning the Grand Marshall award for our depiction of Pinocchio, show of spirit in winning four pep rallies, and excellent participation in this year ' s Prom. By this show of class unity, it is my opinion that, with your help and support, the class of ' 78 could graduate next year as the best class this school has ever had. Dear Sophomore Class, This past year has been a great experience for me. I wanted to express to you how honored I was to represent such a terrific class. We started out by putting on the best class-sponsored dance of the year. Next we proved ourselves by winning the best theme award in the ' 76- ' 77 homecoming parade. Other activities we had during the year were very successful because of the unity and enthusiasm of the class of ' 79. The spirit and pride that our class has shown, has been great. And I am sure that in the following years to come, that same spirit and pride will stay with us, to carry on the tradition of Valencia. The remembrance of my Sophomore year will always be a special one to me. Thanks for a fantastic year and we all know, ' 79 rules!! Dear Freshman Class, The Freshman class of 80 has been engaged in quite a few activities this year. We started off the year with Homecoming. It involved a candy apple sale, to raise money, building a float for the Homecoming parade and other activities during the Homecoming week. Second semester, we sponsored a dance and a carwash which was very successful. We also helped in remodeling the landscape of our school grounds. We had a couple of class meetings in which we accomplished what we wanted. I think that we have fulfilled what was set out to do this year, which was to have a fun time and make school more enjoyable.
