if? 4. ,, 644152 2767564120 Ready For The World, a popular rythm and blues band, performed in the P.E. Complex before an audi- ence of approximately 3,000 people on the night of February 96, 1987. This concert, like the two before it, was sponsored by the Campus Activities Board. The concert was arranged just a week before the band arrived. Nevertheless, an unexpectedly high turnout generated ticket sales of over SQQ,000 dollars. Spectators thrilled to dazzling light displays as the concert got underway. The Ready For The World Con- cert featured more special effects than did the Beach Boys or Ricky Skaggs Concert. After opening with lt's Been A Long Time Com- ing, the group performed such favorites as Oh, Sheila, and Mary Goes Around. Also featured was the group's number one hit Let Me Lay You Down.

Complex was the sight of the premiere of Kool and The Gangs 1987 Victory tour, The oand, after cancelling an earlier date at Valdosta State, approached the school a sec- ond time with definite interest in launching the groups tour in Valdosta On the night of April 14, 1987 thousands of screaming fans delighted in seeing Kool and the Gang perform. This popular Top 40 oand is noted for its ten- der oallads, and performed such hits as Cherish, and Special Way. Also, the band gave the enthusiastic audience a taste of such high-energy oeats as Emergency, Mislead, and Stone Love. 'ufllfivlli llfif
