Some carry briefcases, others carry broomsticks. These are the President's men. These are the men and women who teach the students. process the paychecks, count the absences, and pull up the smelly plants. These are the men and women in uniform who issue citations and those in aprons who dish out the 'food'. The President's men and women are the people the students compliment and complain about and sometimes share conversation and cognac with. Typical of anyone in the system these people are never there when needed and always around when not wanted. These people never seem to loose the zeal for teaching or assigning term papers. They are willing to share knowledge any time Kexcept on exam daysj and never loose a smile Kexcept on pay dayj. These are the people our parents warned us about. OPENING,f'3

l984 brought an entire new concept in concerts. The Fine Arts Ampitheatre was the locale of two outdoor shows, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Michael Iceberg. People, dogs and coolers accompanied by beverages and blankets enjoyed the regrouping of the original Nitty Gritty Dirt Band featuring the reunion of .lohn McEuen and .leff Hanna. The encore number, 'May The Circle Be Unbroken , brought goosebumps to the crowd. Michael Iceberg and The Iceberg Machine returned to VSC offering workshops and dazzling students with the audio visual display. Robin Zander, Rick Nielson, Bun E. Carlos and Tom Petersson got the crowd up though the lights weren't down as Cheap Trick shook VSC in November I983. We M0 , F., .,., ,kifmimaw
