College Union Board Entertainment. John Metts head of the College Union Board filled the campus with activities for all tastes of Valdosta State College. The Whithead audi- torium had a movie every Sunday night sponsored by the C.U.B. It included all the favorite movies of the year including Sharkys Machine, Chariots of Fire, On Golden Pond, and Raiders of the Lost Ark. The two student hangouts on VSC campus, the CUB snack room and the Blazer game room, had special events held there every quarter. The Direc- tors Chair, held in the snack room, began winter quarter and featured special talent within the Valdos- ta area. Many of the shows included singing, mime, and a special snack bar menu. Billard tournaments and ping-pong tournaments were held at the game room once a quarter for those students with the spe- cial talent to compete. The VSC Talent Show held fall and spring quarter picked a number of the most cultured talent on camp- us. Prizes were given and there were a number of students to compete making it a special event for the C.U.B. Getting students involved is what made the CUB special to the VSC students. The CUB also brought in professional entertain- ment. The CHICAGO concert, held in the new P.E. Complex, brought a sellout crowd to VSC and was a definite delight to not have to leave Valdosta for Tal- lahassee or Albany to see a major concert.
