Avrylea is the young lady you've seen most frequently in the chemistry laboratory brewing mysterious concoctions over Bunsen burners, and discovering with an air of perfect composure just what happens when nucleoproteins are hydro- lyzed. She has an inquisitive mind which keeps her busy discovering the whys and wherefores of everything she comes in contact with, so it is only occasionally that she can salvage a moment from her pursuit of knowledge and devote it to the arts. The particular branch of the arts for which she has a flair is music, and she plays the piano excellently. To see her gazing intently into a microscope, you'd think she was watching a full dress parade at West Point or a scene from the current Gable-Crawford hit, instead of the pri- vate life of an amoeba. It began in the first grade, when a red-headed boy thought that Tuker was a better name than Fluker, and ever since then Fluker has been not Fluker, but Tuker , it you follow us. There was a time when Tuker was going to be a doctor, but she changed her mind. And there was a time when she wrote poetry which was duly published and greatly admired. But she changed her mind again. Woman's privilege you know. The last time we've heard about, she showed signs ot de- veloping into a feminine Winchell.
