Social Studies Offers Social studies may be de- fined as the study of people. Sociology, economics, Bible, civ- MRS. ARNOLD HOGAN attended Georgia State College for Women where she earned her BS degree in education. Mrs. Hogan teaches five classes of United States history and is the sponsor of the Government Club. MR. BILL BENNETT, left, received his BS in Education from Florida State University and his Masters of Education from the University of Georgia. He teaches two classes of driver education, two classes of government, one class each of sociology and economics. He is also one of the football coaches. MR. BILL KITTRELL attended East Carolina College where he received his BS in physical education and social studies. He teaches five classes of civics and is a football coach. ics, government, American his- tory and world history are the courses offered by the social studies department. Every stu- dent must take American history and at least two other of these subjects. Many choose Bible, an unusual and valuable elective. These studies are interesting, and they also give the student a key to an understanding of modern man and his institutions. 24
