Among these are ability, leadership, and, most important, character. This is a cherished honor bestowed on these students by the faculty of Valdosta High School. John Eldridge Mary Dickey Mike Grier Jarrell Tillman Nancy Patterson Tim Vinson 18 Michael Esterman Margaret Corn Kitty Coppage Ann Powell FAMILIAR SCENES Fire!!? No, just Bethay at work on one of those cold mornings. AT V.H.S. Boys line up to get that quick drink of water between classes. The new clinic room with its efficient workers is used frequently. (Mary Helen will surely choke Butch with that tonic if she doesn't remove the thermometer!) 21 Chemistry students engage in all kinds (??) of activities. The shop student always has modern tools at his disposal. ... IN CLASS ROOMS Coach Davis's art is-------well, it's just a little out of proportion!!! Mrs. McClure and Latin class find the wars of Caesar humorous??? 23 Mrs. Hunt and Mrs. Forrest always greet us with a smile in the lunchroom. ... IN THE LUNCHROOM We humbly extend our appreciation to the faithful V.H.S. lunchroom staff under the supervision of Mrs. Clarice Hunt. EDUCATION WEEK .. DURING AMERICAN The band is lined up, but where is the team? ... DURING FOOTBALL SEASON Now we know why Mr. Bookman never misses a football game!!! Will Freeman kick the ball? That is the question! Philip brings the band to a halt with one mighty lift of his baton. Martha cuts quite a figure as V.H.S. feature twirler. AT V.H.S. Molly and Bozey slowly trudge off the field after a V.H.S. defeat. Dosta football fans stand during a tense moment of the game. Mike presents Alvie with the camera he earned by be- ing the outstanding maga- zine salesman. John and Gretchen present VHS with a Bible to be used for devotionals each morn- ing. Bethay makes his annual speech in thanks for his Christmas gift. ... IN CHAPEL Sweet Sue needs a stool to stand on to make her lunchroom announcements. Evangelist Don Brandeis captivates students at VHS. Mr. Harrison presents Mr. Bridges a gift from the faculty. Madeline serves one of the guests at the Home Ec Christ- mas tea at which the mothers were honored guests. ... AT CHRISTMAS TIME Bethay brings Christmas to a close as he takes down the last decorations. Talk about a party! Mr. Harrison jokes with Bozey and Ben before he summons another hungry class to lunch. LIGHT MOMENTS Mrs. Massey, what are you doing to Mr. Wilson's leg? Sergeant Coleman (?) talks with her superior officer. Coach Bazemore grins as he walks out of the Den of Iniquity. Dieter, our student from Germany, looked through his neat (?) locker for that book so I can study for one of those crazy American tests.
