Max and Buddy won the region doubles by defeating Cordele, and went on to place 2nd in the State Willie won both the region and the State in singles, as usual. 'ports l cuiew The athletics at V.H.S. show part of that fam- ous Dosta spirit, the spirit of good sportsman- ship: win, loose, or draw. Our teams this year “brought home the bacon with ten trophies. The football team won the region, state, and Peanut Bowl trophies and was awarded for the second consecutive year the Albany Touchdown Club trophy for most outstanding state champ- ions. The boys' basketball team won the Hahira of 53-54 Invitational Tournament trophy, the region tro- phy, and the state third place cup. The girls' junior varsity team brought back the winner's trophy from the Lakeland Invitational Basket- bail Tournament. The boys' doubles tennis team won the region and placed second in the state, while Willie won region and state again.
