V2 NAVY TIME - 5 AUG '76 WILMINGTON, Del. - Charles- ton, S.C.-based frigate Valdez spent July 4 here helping the city celebrate the nation's birthday. Wilmington Mayor Tom Malo- ney presented the key to the city to the ship's commanding officer, Cmdr. Ken Jacobsen, who in turn gave Maloney a ship's plaque. Valdez hosted more than 6500 visi- tors over the weekend. A short drive to Philadelphia, City of Brotherly Love The Liberty Bell was cast in England in 1752 for the Pennsylvania Statehouse in Philadelphia, it was recast in 1753. The inscription reads, Proclaim liberty throughout all of the land unto all the inhabitants thereof. It cracked on 8 July 1835, while tolling the death of Chief Justice John Marshall.
