Text from Pages 1 - 232 of the 1975 volume:

And the purple grains of man whisper through my hour glass hands. Convincing me to spend my time in dreaming — Jams Ian Only in our minds can we seek and salvage the last remaining traces of our being. To be stripped of our thoughts is to be forced to submit to the will of those who derive their power from our weakness. We alone will be held responsible for this defeat, and no one will be able to come to our aid once the process is complete. Perhaps no one will recall being forwarned; perhaps memory itself will have lost all value. To this most important of freedoms— the freedom of thought—is this book dedicated. Walerij Kyrejko Yearbook Advisor One of the so-called privileges of the editor of a literary form is to write an editorial, the purpose of which is to transmit an idea or opinion. I suppose that for my editorial, I could state my disapproval with the school, its current administration and policies, or perhaps I could speak of the tragic destruction of an already weak educational system through the mismanagement of funds. Like many editors-in-chief, I could focus my attention on the Yearbook itself, thanking all those who made it possible. Perhaps I could come up with a pseudo-philosophical statement stressing the importance of education. There is however, something of greater relevance to my life than merely the above mentioned details As I look around, I see few people who are truly committed. Most of us lack a realization of the priorities of life. As the future leaders of this world, we cannot allow others to convince us that we need not decide what is of importance to us. We must have the courage to make some decisive moves, speaking out for what we believe in, in spite of the lack of popularity our views might receive. This Yearbook was an attempt by few to reach many. Each page was created by people who worked their tails off for something they believed in something they felt was truly important. I cannot help but wonder how many people can honestly admit to the same. -S.C. 186 «Mr. Bowles, I'm too short to be propositioned Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese pickles . . .
