EVELYN BACHELLER As a familiar figure at Ivy Street Junior High and Vailsburg High for the past eleven years, Mrs. Evelyn Bacheller has contributed immeasurably to the school as the able advisor to the National Honor Society and as a very capable math teacher. In- variably, learning in her class is fun, for she makes the subject come alive. Never too busy nor too weary to offer encouragement and advice to students. Mrs. Bacheller has earned the reputation of being a truly wonderful person, sincerely interested in the welfare of the individual student. McSHARRY PRINCIPAL Not only is this your Commencement Day but you, the class of 1%7, are the first generation to look from the stars to the earth. 'Pie young men and ladies who accepted their diplomas through the past years, looked towards the stars, hut you through a new cosmos will scan the oceans and land of this terrestrial planet. Yet, we do not feel that the learning you acquired in the microcosm, Vailshurg High School, has been wasted. While the science and mathematics and language will be modified indefinitely, the attitudes, the ideals taught you by your teachers and emblazoned in your school motto will remain with you no matter through what space you travel or on what star you set your goal. May this class of Vikings find Liberty with Loyalty as effective in the world of outer space as you have learned to practice it here. PAPERBACK BOOK FAIR How many colors in a Winky Dink set? 176 We wish to sincerely thank all the people who aided immeasurably in the production of our yearbook. Our first kudo goes to Mr. Hanley, our faculty advisor who contributed many hours to the cause. His invaluable judgment and common sense prevailed at all times. We are indebted to Joe Trabucco for volunteering a great many hours of his own time to assist in making our yearbook what it is. We appreciate the work that Miss DeMartino did in conjunction with our business and advertising staff to keep the financial records straight. A special bit of praise to those faithful people who worked day after day to help us meet our deadlines. Our hats are off to Louis Kuan who enhanced our book with samples of his own distinctive artwork. Of course we cannot thank our depart- ment editors enough. We regret if we have overlooked anyone but if we have, forgive us and thank you again.
