New Jersey 07106 WURRY! WURRY! WJRRY! Step right this way! The show is about to begin. You are about to sec a spectacle unequaled in the annals of human history. A show so big it took four years in the making. Four years of fun and work, of tears and laughter, of hope and despair. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll be amazed at the proceedings before you. And now, without any further ado, we proudly present the main attraction: our yearbook— VALKYRIAN 1966. DEDICATION During our years at Vailsburg, we were fortunate to have ah expert musician and teacher, Mr. Anthony A. Marcopoto, a man truly dedicated to his profession and to his students. Mr. Marcopoto’s contributions to Vailsburg are immeasurable. He has spent countless hours with our marching band, dance band, and orchestra. He gave school spirit a gigantic boost with his composing of our fight song, and his collaboration on our Alma Mater. He has been more than a teacher; he has been our friend. We, the class of nineteen hundred and sixty-six, proudly dedicate our year- book, The Valkyrian, to Mr. Anthony A. Marcopoto. MeSharry as our principal until this year. Without his leadership, Vailsburg High School would not have been able to attain such high standards of scholastic and athletic achievement. Wc missed Dr. MeSharry’s smiling countenance and wise words this year when he was on sabbatical leave, but wc remember him with fondness and respect. 8 MR IMLOAM A- MONPRODP, JR,. AOTNG PRINCIPAL Mr. William A. Monprodc has served as acting principal of Vailsburg for the 1965-66 school year. His previous experience as our vice-principal has prepared him well for this demanding position. We sincerely appreciate Mr. Monprode’s firm and com- petent administration and his alert and sympathetic interest in all the students of Vails- burg. 9 MR . MORRIS BRBMMAN ACTING WCB-PR NCIPAL In September 1965, Vailsburg High School welcomed acting Vice-Principal, Mr Morris Brenman. Mr. Brenman’s extensive education and experience enabled him to step into this difficult position with ease. His authoritative but congenial manner gained for him the confidence and respect of the student body. The impetus behind them was Mr. Hill, the head coach, and Mr. Scavone, who coached the field men. Although all goals were not attained, the hard work, and determination, which many boys showed were manifested in the final outcome of their season. These maidens were sent to select the bravest heroes and bring them back to Valhalla. To carry our theme of the Vikings, we named our yearbook the Valkyrian after these people who gave encouragement in time of need. A LETTER OF THANKS . . . As we reminisce, we recall a most wonderful and memorable experience, for we as novice journalists have completed our first major publication, the 1966 Valkyrian.
