AE Nissan Superintendent? Message Sheep travel in flocksg cattle in herdsg and wild geese fly in close formation following a leader. Men form groupsg legislate in political parties: live together in communities. Com- munities form cities and cities form nations. This gregarious instinct is universal from the S smallest to the largest of Godis creatures. The Associated Student Body of Vaca High is an example of the formation of a group dedi- cated to work together as students in building a better school. It is competent student leader- ship that has enabled the Associated Student Body of Vaca High to achieve the many fine accomplishments of 1955-56. This Ulatis of '56 has been compiled and edited by a group of capable leaders from our student body. The quality and par excellence of this yearbook is certainly adequate testimony in support of our belief that among the students in Vaca High may be found some of the most promising youth of our time. As Superintendent, l commend our student leaders for the many accomplishments of the Associated Student Body of 1955-56 and especially for the successful comple- tion of this Ulatis of '56. There are those of our Associated Student Body who have chosen not to lead even though richly endowed with the ability to do so. To these students we say that it is the person who is not afraid to come out of the crowd that is marked for advancement and leadership. As a rule, it isn't easy to come out of the crowd. At times, it can be a difficult decision to make because it is so much easier to conform than to transform -so much easier to imitate than to create-and it requires so much less effort to float than to swim against the current. The future of Vaca High depends upon its student leadership. The student who is not afraid to come out of the crowd is in great demand. He is the one we are looking for-the one who will help us all to accomplish even greater things in the years ahead.
