Doug and Mike, the elite, the chosen ones, the creme de la creme of V.I.T., were asked to give some of their prize advice to the male underclassmen on what to do on boring lectures. LESSONS TO UNDERCLASSMEN FIRST: Draw pictures. This is an inexpensive, time-consuming, polite, and quiet thing to do. (Use notebook paper so it looks like you’re taking notes.) SECOND: If that doesn’t interest you, get someone in trouble. Works like a charm to dispel boredom simply because the teacher stops talking. This can be achieved quite easily by subtly annoying the person in front of you. That person will eventually turn around, yell at you, and get in trouble with the teacher. THIRD: Try gazing out the window and daydreaming. If that does not work, just simply put your head down and sleep, it works for us. FOURTH: If you aren’t tired, ask the teacher a question that has nothing to do with the class, or call the teacher by his or her first name. (This drives them crazy.) If the teacher ask you a question, totally agree with them. FIFTH: Throw spit wads, snap people with rubber bands, or just start pounding on them. BUT, if you can think of something better to do, go ahead and try it, if you’re feeling brave. Staring at the foxiest girl in the class is the very best solution for solving boredom.
