OF V.l.T. After 3:14, students conduct their extra-curricular activities. From sports to clubs to play practice, between 3:14 and 5, the school is never empty! During the evening, the gym rings with the spirited clamor of fans rooting on the basketball teams or music festival participants. The spirit at VIT has risen substantially through the year, and fans come out — rain or shine — to encourage all of our teams. Then, late at night, quiet and alone again, the janitors begin their ritual of revitalizing our beloved school, taking special care to make everything presentable for our next school day. To outsiders, VIT may not be something special, but to you, the proud students of VIT, it is a place of fun, learning, and friendly faces. Through your experiences here, VIT has become UNIQUELY YOURS . . . — Kim Fross, senior 4 Mandy Lidwell goes punk during Homecoming Week. 5. Arlie Welker — the 70s revisited. 6. Robyn Matteson sucks jello at the Science Club Initiation Party. 3

The halls of VIT prove to be a unique trip this year — around the clock. Early in the morning, if you were to intrude, you would find our janitors cleaning and bracing themselves for the day ahead. Mr. Prinz busies himself with phone calls and morning duties as he awaits the arrival of students. By 8 o’clock, students trickle in slowly, calling out names of their gang members or standing quietly in the lunch line or laughing about last night's happenings. Through the long morning classes, the aroma of the special noontime meal fills the air, tempting students to the cafeteria. Bells ring, signifying breaks in classes, flailing rushes of students to the hall. During the late afternoons, the peppery essence of Spanish food or some other exotic cuisine fills the halls, drawing study hall students to beg at the doors of the Spanish or Home Ec rooms. 2 THE UNIQUE FACES 1. Quinton Bailey, Star Raider , crazy at play practice. 2. Unique Senior tans at the Senior Night Pep Assembly in February. 3. Billy Waters, alias Johnny Spot, smiles when he forgets his line at play practice. 4. Charlie. Matt, and Neal wracking their brains at the Senior Bowl in Canton. 5. Randy Dennis examines the lens. 6. Joe Butcher drives the lane during the final minutes of the Avon game.
