CRUISIN’ Some start as early as 4:00; others come out with the rising moon, but they all have the same destination: The Vermont Hardware Warehouse. Bright lights in your rearview mirror signaling you to pull over; braking at the sight of the cop; a different song blaring from each car window; parking one car just to climb into another to cruise around some more. At some point, we pull over at the warehouse. Some just sit while others immediately run over to the other cars to see what's going on. But after sitting for awhile, we become anxious. The car engines start. We have to cruise. Some just need to cruise over to the Carry-Out on a munchie run. Others leave to see if anyone new is out cruising. Some just cruise to look cool. Everyone cruises. Some start by entering town and cruising by the foundry. Others venture onto the square to start the evening out. No matter where you start, by the end of the night, the station, the bowling alley, Big G’s, the Carry-Out, Jerry’s Standard Station, and the warehouse are once again familiar sights.
