There are so many places we can go. so many things we can do. Some of us will work, some go on to college, and some will settle down and start a family of our own. But no matter who or where we are, our memories of our friends and loved ones from V.l.T. will live forever. Although when times were bad, we thought we couldn't wait to “get out , we soon found out just how much our friends and classmates mean to us. by Sheri Roberts President - Von Saufley V. Now that our junioryear is over, we are forced to face the growing financial difficulties that could limit our activities as seniors. With our experiences as juniors, we feel confident to meet the challenge of our senior year. P.S. Jim Malone - Superintendent at FFA - Banquet THANK YOU We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Malone, Mr. Artman, and Mr. Inman, for their dedicated work to the school and community over the many years that they have served in this district. With their invaluable leadership many students have graduated and become leaders in their respective communities. Mr. Artman and Mr. Malone have served at VIT for six years, while Mr. Inman is serving his 17th year. These three gentelmen cooly go about solving disciplinary, excutive and monetary problems, without so much as a single complaint. Their nonchalant manner and easy-going style have kept high school spirit high and peaceful. Success doesn't come easily but through dedication and hard work. Through such dedication, their reign has been nothing short of success. We were very excited about the 3 2 weeks to come. The anticipation of sitting in O'Hare didn't help any. Finally we were in the air — what a feeling we all had. it was like no other. The meeting of our new families, reunion for some, was very tear jerking. The German hosts were quite generous with their love, affection, and wealth. They showed us many things, the Israelies put some spark in certain activities, we enjoyed. We never wanted to sleep for fear of missing something. The days flew by so fast and the next thing we knew we had to go home. If you think the first meeting was tear jerking, you should have seen the departing on the last day. No one wanted to come home so soon. Our memories linger with us today and we will always remember the hospitality the host families showed us and the many fine times we all had. Most of all we want to thank Mrs. Connour for being such a good chaperone. Four ducky guysll SENIOR CLASS TRIP On May 16 at 7:00, 32 sleepy seniors took off on an exciting adventure in Chicago. Our first stop was Marriotts Great America where we spent the entire day. Almost all of the seniors summoned up the courage to ride the two most challenging rollercoasters around. The Demon and The Tidal Wave. After a tiring day we again boarded the charter bus and headed to the hotel where room assignments were given out and most seniors changed into swimming suits and headed for the indoor pool. After relaxing at the pool, hottub and sauna, the more daring of the seniors attended the movie Happy Birthday To Me. The next morning the sleepy seniors and advisors boarded the charter bus once again and headed to the West-field Mall where we ate and shopped, then it was off to the Shedd Aquarium, The Sears Tower, and the Museum of Science and Industry. After an exciting and tiring day, we were once again honeward bound and arrived at VIT at 9:30. We would like to thank our advisors, Mr. Schoenwetter, Mr. and Mrs. Webb, and Mrs. Baker for making the Senior Class Trip of 1981 a successful and fun-packed weekend! by Lauri Killion Just pretending Settle down boys!!
