GROWING TOGETHER AND REMEMBER Quietly walking down the path DovVh the path of life You meet many things Good and bad Happy and sad Life and death Love and hate It's all a part of living All a part of dying As time goes on And years slip by We never forget those we love And why As our high school years have slipped by We never failed to think of you And remember why. Thinking back on the past six years here at V.I.T., we, as Seniors, can't help but get feelings of nostalgia. Entering Jr. High as seventh graders, we were thinking that we couldn't wait until we were old enough to enter High School. As eighth graders we knew we were one step closer to being an adult. Our first day as Freshmen was unforgettable. We plunged into our High School life with a mixed feeling of dread and anticipation while the halls echoed with Freshmen's signs of relief because initation had been banned. As Freshmen, we sold candy to raise money towards our Jr. Prom. As Sophomores we sold magazines and were the first class to get our class rings as Sophomores. As Juniors we put on the play M A S H , and had basketball concessions to help put on our Jr.-Sr. Prom, Pieces of April. Now as Seniors we have had football concessions, our class play, IT'S ALL DONE WITH MIRRORS, and we sold light bulbs. We attended our last Prom Precious and Few and also ordered graduation announcements. We depart, some of us with a few tears, from these walls, which have offered security for so many years, into our separate unknown worlds. 26 MARIA LEIGH BADER JOHN EUGENE BAKER FRANKIE JANE BARTLETT STEVEN ANDREW ADCOCK DEBRA LEANN ATEN KRISTINA LYNN AZBELL SHERMAN MICHAEL BEEVER CATHY DAMARIS BLANSFIELD GEORGE E. The Junior Class for 1974-75 has accomplished many things in the past three years. In our freshman year, we sold candy, in our sophomore year, magazines. This year we've sponsored a bonfire, concessions at basketball games, and the organization of the Junior-Senior Prom. All this is aimed at our Senior year and our class trip. We have worked very hard in the past three years to make this trip worthwhile. We hope our last year at V.l.T. will be as fun and exciting as we have known it to be in the past. Stambaugh SOPHOMORES g CLASS OF 77 Beginning the year as Sophomores, our first duty was to elect our leaders. After a few nominations and votes, we elected (bottom to top) Kim Coates, president; Lois Burlingame, vice-president; Susan Schisler, treasurer; Annette Bubb, secretary; and Leann Boumas reporter. These people were wisely advised by our sponsors, Mrs. Pavelka and Mrs. Dailey. When Homecoming rolled around, we were there, lending spirit and zest by livening up the halls, cafeteria and lobby with green and white streamers. Lois Burlingame and Ed Wickert served as our attendants. After this, we sold an enormous amount of magazine subscriptions, which put quite a bit of money in our class treasury. The next important step we took was somehow acquiring our driver's license. This led to many harrowing experiences for both us and Mr. Connour. Last but not least, we ordered and received our class rings, which made us feel more like upperclassmen than anything else. K. Coates M. Creech J. Current K. Danner M. Easley 45 J. Miller J. Myers J. Such a BIG and FRIGHTENING step for us who became Freshmen. As Freshmen we looked forward to the many money-making projects and other projects new to us. At the start of the year, the class officers above were chosen. In the fall we attended our first Homecoming Dance. Attendants representing our class of'78 were Samantha Miller and Jeff Wherley. Our first money-making project was selling candy. We made $467. As our Freshmen year came to a close, we realized that the BIG and FRIGHTENING part was in the past and the BEST is yet to come. P.
