Math ■MB The mathematics classes have been taught to see problem solving in various ways-the pre-algebra students concentrated on learning patterns and were surprised to see how these patterns fit so many situations. The Algebra I students learned to translate English sentences into equations for solving problems. The Algebra 11 students spent much time reviewing their Algebra I and got acquainted with a bit of Trigonometry. Fourth year math students had to dust off all math they had learned in the past and began to realize how algebra, geometry, trig, and analytics are inter-dependent, and believe it or not— interesting. business The aim of the business education department is to prepare students to enter the world of the business office. The freshman courses are General Business and General Typing. Advanced Typing is offered the second year. Shorthand is offered the Junior year. Shorthand is taught the first semester and the transcribing of letters is studied in the second semester. The Senior business student finds himself in Office Practice which consists of skills learned in typing. With the teaching of Mrs. Cary and Mrs. Kost at V.l.T. many students have been able to qualify for an office position.
